Xerxes

The Deck:

For Xerxes solitaire shuffle two decks after discarding all card from twos to eights inclusive. (Use a Pinochle deck of 48 cards, two cards of each rank from nine to ace in each suit.)

Layout Instructions:

Remove a nine and put it at the left. Below it deal cards in a pile, spread downward, until you turn another ninespot. Place this to right of the first nine, and start a new pile below it. Continue dealing the entire deck in the same way, putting all nines in a row and start a new pile below each.

How to play:

The rules are that the nines are foundations. In Xerxes your goal is to build eight sequences into runs from 9-10-J-Q-K-A, regardless of suits.

In Xerxes the top card of each tableau pile is available. Build only on the foundations, not the tableau. A space made by moving an entire pile may be filled by the top card from another pile.
