Windmill (Propeller)

Layout Instructions:

Windmill (Propeller) is played with two decks or one. The other Kings go where the blank cards are. Deal an Ace to the center of the board for the foundation, then deal the other cards out to make the sails (see picture shown below). Suits have no rank.

Foundations:

For Windmill (Propeller) build four consecutive Ace-to-King sequences in one pile on the center Ace along with one downward King-to-Ace on each of the four Kings. Move the first four Kings that become available into the spaces between the sails. Sequence is continuous, Ace ranks above King and below two.

The top card of a King foundation may be transferred to the Ace-foundation, that is, one card at an occasion. After such a transfer, the next card put on the Ace-foundation must come from somewhere else.

Rules on How To Play:

In Windmill (Propeller) a space in the sails must be filled at once from the waste pile, if there is no waste pile, then from the stock.

Turn up cards from the stock one at a time, putting unplayable cards in a single waste pile, the top card of which is always available for play on a foundation. There is no redeal.

Windmill (Propeller) Tips:

Build upon the center pile at every opportunity, don’t move cards from the sails to the king-foundations until the waste pile shows a card you need to save. Its ideal to have a wide assortment of ranks in the sails and on king foundations. Don’t make spaces in such a hurry that the sails get loaded with three or four cards of the same rank.
