Biography:


Gus Hansen Poker, he is a famous Danish poker player from Copenhagen, Denmark, he is a widely known name in the poker world, and one of the most aggresive poker players. He has a strategy of playing lower ranked hands with a talent that has proven to be a success at the poker table.

Gus started Poker champs a website he started with Erik Sagstrom, which has proven to be a high quality poker site.

In 1998, Gus started playing more poker than backgammon. When the World Poker Tour started off in 2002, Gus had developed an aggressive strategy that immediately paid off, both in terms of money and recognition.

Gus won the Bad Boys of Poker tournament and, in early 2004, earned his fourth WPT title at the Caribbean Adventure tournament. Gus settled for third place in the Bellagio Five Diamond tournament.

In 2005, Gus Hansen Poker played fewer tournaments in order to focus on his cash game. Even with the reduction in tournament play, Gus made it to the final table at the FullTiltPoker.Net Poker Invitational from Monaco and won the Grand Final of the inaugural Poker Super stars Invitational.

In 2006, Gus played in even fewer tournaments and other events. He played in the second season of High Stakes Poker where he won the biggest pot in the show’s history ($575,700) defeating Daniel Negreanu.

In 2007, Gus’s growing list of tournaments championships continued to grow, he brought home $1,192,919 for his first-place finish in the $10,000 Aussie Millions Main Event in Melbourne, Australia. Gus added another $1.7 million in tournament winnings when he finished second to fellow Full Tilt Poker pro David Chiu in the WPT’s World Championship at Bellagio.
