Odd trick:
One that gives a player or team a majority.

Waste-pile:
Discard pile in Solitaire.

Wenzel:
A jack of trump in early Skat.

Wheel:
Any 5-4-3-2-A in Lowball.

Whist de Gand:
Another name for Solo Whist.

Wide cards:
A Cribbage term for two cards spaced at least two values apart, as 9 and 6, 8 and 4, 7 and 2, etc.

Widow:
A special deal of extra cards, which a player may later pick up. Similar to blind, kitty, skat, talon, equivalent terms used in different games.

Wild card:
A card representing any other.

Wired:
Cards  back to back  in Stud Poker.

With:
To hold a certain number of matadors in Skat.

Without:
To be without a certain number of matadors in Skat.

Y



Yarborough:
A Whist hand with noth­ing higher than a nine. Bets of 1000 to 1 have been offered against holding it, but the actual odds have been calculated at 1827 to 1. The term is also applied to Bridge hands.

Z

Zebra:
Same as striped straight in Poker.

Zsa Zsa:
A very lovely hand.
