Major suits: Spades and hearts in Bridge.
Make: Name a trump; also, to win an amount bid.
Manilla: The seven of trump in Solo; in a few other games, the second highest trump.
Manille: Similar to Manilla.
March: To win all five tricks in Euchre.
Marker: A token or chip.
Marriage: The meld of a king and queen of the same suit, in Bezique and Pinochle; in Solitaire, an auxiliary build.
Matadors: Unbroken sequence of highest trumps in Skat.
Matched cards: Those forming a set in Rummy.
Meld: To lay combinations of cards face up and score their value.
Menel: The nine of trump in Klob and Jass.
Middlehand: Second of three players in Skat.
Minor suits: Diamonds and clubs in Bridge.
Misdeal: To deal cards incorrecl, usually requiring a new deal.
Misery: A term applied to variants of standard games in which players try to lose tirkcs instead of taking them.
Miss: Unsuccessful attempt to improve a hand in Draw Poker. Also the ’widow’ in Loo.
Mittlehand: Same a Middlehand.
Mixed canasta: A meld of see or more cards consisting of both wild and natural cards.
Mort: French term for a dummy hand in Whist.
Mouth bet: Promise to contribute to the pot in poker.
Multiple Klondike: Klondike played by three or more persons, who can add to builds of opposing players, as in Double Solitaire.
Mustached jacks: The

Mustached kings: All the kings except the

Nap: A nickname for Napoleon.
Natural: A Poker combination made without wild cards.
Natural canasta: Seven or eight cards of the same rank, with no wild cards included.
No-trump: In a trump game, a hand played without a trump.
Nullo: A hand or game in which a player tries to lose all tricks or points instead of winning them.
