Kibitzer: An onlooker during a card game.
Kicker: In Poker, an odd or unneeded card kept in the hand while making a draw, often as a bluff.
Kilter: A freak Poker hand wih cards ranging from 9 down to 2. Also the lowest skip.
King: In most games, the highest face card; and usually the highest card in games where aces are ranked as low.
Kitty: A pool or part of it; also a term fof widow.
Knave: British term for jack.
Knock: To end a hand or make an announcement by knocking on the table.

Laps: A form of Euchre; also a mode of scoring in other games.
Last: Score for the last point in Cribbage.
Last trick: A special 10-point score in Pinochle.
Last turn: A bet on the order of the last three cards in a Faro deal.
Lay away: To make discards in a crib in Cribbage; or in a widow in Pinochle.
Lay down: Make a meld or reveal a winning hand.
Lay off: To dispose of cards by placing them on an opponent’s meld in Rummy.
Layout: Arrangement of cards on table in Solitaire and games like Russian Bank or Spite and Malice. Also extra cards place on a table to indicate payoffs in Faro and Michigan.
Lead: Play a card from the hand face up as the start to a trick.
Least: An option to take the fewest points in Schafkopf.
Left bower: In games of the Euchre type, the jack of the same color as the jack of trump, or right bower.
Left pedro: In Cinch, the five of the same color as the five of trump, or right pedro.
Light: Drawing chips from the pot in Poker to show how many the player owes when out of chips himself.
Limit: The ceiling place on bets, particularly in Poker.
Little cassino: The

2, valued as a point in Cassino.
Little cat: Freak hand in Poker, with eight high and three low, as 8 7 6 5 3 not the the same suit.
Little dog: Freak hand in Poker, with seven high and two low, as 7 6 5 3 2 not of the same suit.
Little slam: Taking twelve of the thirteen tricks in Bridge.
Little tiger: Same as "little cat."
Lone hand: A player who plays on his won against two or more opponents.
Long game: Any in which the entire pack is dealt to start.
Long stud: A Stud Poker game in which a player is deal more than five cards.
Long suit: Predominant suit in hand, or any exceeding length.
Looed: To be penalized for failing to take any tricks in Loo.
Low: Any low card or hand; in Pitch, the lowest card in play; also a point scored for holding or taking it.
Lowest hand: In standard Poker, five cards with values 7-5-4-3-2.
Lowest with swinging ace: In High-low Poker, the following: 6-4-3-2-A.
Lurched: To be beaten before reaching half the score for game; a player so defeated is left "in the lurch."
