Fan Tan (Sevens) card game plays best with three to eight.
Objective:
To be the first to playoff all your cards.
The Cards:
Standard 52-card deck. Aces are low.
Rules for How to Play:
Give each player an equal number of chips; you will need a bowl to collect the chips in. Deal the whole pack one card at a time to each player. It doesn’t matter if some players have one card fewer than the others.
Fan Tan (Sevens) starts with the player to the dealer’s left, each player must play a 7 or add on to cards in suit sequences ascending or descending from the 7’s. Once the 7 has been played, for example, the 8 or 6 can be played. If you play the 8, you can then play the 9. If you play the 6, you can then play the 5. Sequences ascend to the king and descend to the Ace. Once an end card is reached, fold up the row of cards and turn them over.
In Fan Tan (Sevens) when you can’t play one of your cards, pass and put one chip in the bowl. Whoever is out of cards first in the game gets the chips in the bowl, and one chip for every card left in each player’s hand.
