Calculation is sometimes called Broken Intervals, or The Fairest.
Layout:
Place any A, 2, 3, and 4 in a foundation column. Place the cards in the waste piles if you can’t play the card.
Objective:
In Calculation (Broken Intervals) build on the four foundation cards in numerical sequences. Discard suits. Build on the ace by ones, 2 by twos, 3 by threes, and 4 by fours.

How to play:
Turn cards over from the pack one by one, build on any foundation when able. Put unpayable cards into one of four waste piles. The top card of any waste pile is always available. Spread the waste piles downward to see the cards "buried" within each. There is no redeal.
Calculation Tips:
Queens, 6s, and 8s are needed early in the play, while 10s, jacks, and especially kings are needed later. Use selection of card placement in the waste piles to succeed in Calculation (Broken Intervals).
When you can, place waste cards into piles so they can later be played back consecutively. For example, place a 5 on a 9, and an ace on the 5, for later playback to the 4 row.
